Cet atelier, inspiré par le concept japonais du Shinrin Yoku (bain de forêt), a invité les participant·e·s à explorer les paysages urbains en transformation de la Place Ville Marie à Montréal, à travers un parcours mené par les sens. En arpentant les zones publiques, les participant·e·s ont été invité·e·s à marcher avec attention plutôt qu’intention, à s’ouvrir aux détails souvent invisibles : textures, sons, lumières, odeurs, sensations. Chacun·e a collecté ces éléments sous forme de traces (notes, dessins, enregistrements audio, frottages, empreintes avec argile, etc.), qui ont ensuite servi à composer une cartographie sensible et collective du territoire exploré. Une expérience immersive qui invite à se ralentir, à s’accorder un temps de présence au cœur du tumulte urbain.
Cet atelier a été réalisé en collaboration avec le Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, dans le cadre de MOMENTA Biennale d’art contemporain, à partir de l’exposition
Nuna Aliannaittuq de l’artiste Maureen Gruben.

This workshop was inspired by, and built around, the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing). It invited participants to explore the evolving urban landscape of Place Ville Marie in Montreal through a meditative walk guided by the senses. While moving through public spaces, participants were encouraged to walk with attention rather than intention, opening themselves to often-invisible details: textures, sounds, lights, smells, and sensations. Each participant collected these elements as traces—notes, drawings, audio recordings, rubbings, clay impressions, etc.—which were then used to create a sensitive and collective mapping of the explored territory. An immersive experience that invites slowing down and taking time to be present in the midst of the urban commotion
This workshop was conducted in collaboration with the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, as part of MOMENTA Biennale d’art contemporain, drawing from the exhibition Nuna Aliannaittuq by artist Maureen Gruben.
